Bought this one last summer:

I love it! The ceramic bessel, the PCL, the green 24h hand, not to mention the new clasp. It’s just beautiful.
Besides it’s amazingly accurate. After having the watch for three months I got it regulated. (It was 3 s slow a day.). Know it’s 2 - 3 s slow a week! That’s an average of 0.36 s a day!!!
It’s 3 s slow a week if I let it sit in the safe the days I play tennis before work, and 2 s slow a week if I just take it of while playing. If i don’t take it off while playing it will gain 2 s that day, and then be back on track.
I never take it off unless playing tennis or sleeping. I love to shower with it so it gets nice and shiny
Here are a couple of more pictures:

No, not bumped off, just fired. Things are not good, but maybe they’ll get better sooner than later. All the sales reps in my region were brought into a meeting this past Thursday and were told our positions were eliminated. I’ve been there for 21 years and earned a very good income for the past 5-8 years. I guess we’re a victim of economy cutbacks. They offered us 2 job options with the company, both of them earning less than 1/3 of what I earned last year. Option 1 would be sales work during the day 9-5 with maybe some evenings, but wouldn’t be enough money to even pay my mortgage with after taxes, and we have a small mortgage! Option 2 would be working at night from 230-9pm Monday - Friday with some Saturdays which means I’d never see my family except for Sunday. That would stink. The money would be about 1/2 of what I make now, maybe less. I’m going to try to get the day job earning alot less and look for a job in my spare time on the weekends and evenings. If I don’t get the day job (there’s only 4 available for 10 interested sales reps), then I’ll just grin and bear it, accepting the night job.
I’m a sales rep for the largest cable TV company in the US, and the top sales rep in my region each year for the past 21 years I’ve been there, but I still worry about finding anything else as we eat into our savings. I realize it could take 3-6 months or more to find anything and I realize I’ll make but a pittance of what I made last year for many years, probably. I’m getting my resume reworked and wondering if I’ll have to sell my Daytona or YM before the dust settles on this situation. If anyone has any advice for me or knows of any companies that are hiring (don’t laugh - they’re must be a few!) or for me to think about interviewing with, feel free to PM me anytime
I’m open to anything at this point.
On a happier note, it’s my 5000th post and that’s kind of cool. I remember when Leo and I were both had around 4500 posts each but he must have had alot more time to spend on here than I have this past year
as he’s way over 7000 now. Nothing is really that important about having 5000 posts, in a way it may have wasted much of my time. I enjoy it so much here though so I only look at it as something positive. I was in the gym today and noticed this ad in a magazine. It’s an ad that I see year after year of the YM. Even though the other Rolexes change from time to time like the DD, Air King, GMT, Milgauss, Datejusts, etc … the men’s SS/Plat YM remains mostly the same year after year. You see this same ad so often, in color on the back of a magazine, and in black and white in your Sunday section in much smaller print… it’s comforting to me. I love my YM and thought I’d just put my 2 cents in about it. I haven’t worn it for a few months but I broke it out recently and am back in love again.
Not to beat a dead horse question as it’s been asked from time to time here, but do you think it’s perfectly appropriate to wear a YM to an interview for a sales job? Sometimes the interviewer is wearing a plastic Casio watch … and then I’d be there wearing my Rolex. Better to wear my 18 gold plated Movado dress watch with the white dial and gold dot for the 12 marker instead? I have no other less expensive interview watch. I realize there’s 2 schools of thought on this and both have valid points. I’m not a doctor or lawyer so a Rolex is less accepted for a mid-level sales job. On the other hand, Rolex somewhat says "success" so if it’s noticed, an interviewer might think "Hmm, he seems fairly successful from an outward appearance". Could be a good thing. Could end up being… a bad thing if a resentment is attached to me wearing it. I’ll probably just end up wearing it on interviews as in the end, it most likely won’t make any difference one way or another.
I really still hope to go to the NYC GTG as my hotel room is paid for already on hotel points, but every little expense puts us into a hole. Between the drive up, the parking at the hotel, and modest eating out, it’s $500 already. It stinks to live like this. I went from someone that spent carefreely to someone now that is watching every dime. Hopefully things will turn around soon (heck, it’s only been 4 days since I found out the news). You never know what door may open when one closes. Not having been in the job market seriously for 20 years leaves one with alot of anxiety, but through the help of friends and family, it’s all the more easier to slug through it.

Thanks for the great times here on WTF. If my earlier post count wasn’t brought over from that other forum, I would have alot less posts. In the end, it’s all good.
